The Coral Room

Vacationing in Denver, Colorado brought us to The Coral Room. A delightful spot to enjoy brunch.

Our lovely hostess enjoyed one of the most popular items on the menu, the Tomato Avocado Poached Eggs Benedict. Served with english muffin, sauteed spinach, hollandaise, potatoes.

Omelets are served with potatoes, fruit, and toast. This Mac Daddy omelet had macaroni and cheese in it! Are you kidding me? no, and it’s amazing.

This handsome and available man choose Two Eggs any style with potatoes, toast, and fruit.

This nice regular recommends the Miss Kris Scramble. Tomato, peppers, onion, mushrooms, jalapeno, cheddar. “what.”

This funny lady enjoyed a Garden Scramble omelet: feta, spinach, tomato, mushroom. I mean look how much fun she’s having!

I also went with the Mac Daddy omelet with added mushrooms and a side of avocado. Seriously the best meal of my trip!

Cheesy goodness!

Here we are looking natural in the bar area. This took at least 4 shots to get thanks to the yummy mimosas we had with brunch.

Thanks, Coral Room!! www.coralroom.com

Zombie Burger

So you’ve probably heard the hype for Zombie Burger and let me tell you… It is pretty awesome.

We didn’t mind the 30 min wait to be seated as there was plenty to take in. The fun menus and wall art, and the people watching was good too.

The menu wasn’t exactly like what I’m seeing online: http://zombieburgerdm.com/

One of the cooks overheard us talking about the Trailer Trash Zombie before we were seated, he explained that it was no longer on the menu, but could still make it upon request. Requested! and have to admit felt kind of hip ordering off menu.

This, my friend, is a burger topped with fried pickles and cheese curds. um yum!

I went with something even more nontraditional. The Undead Elvis: peanut butter, egg, bananas, bacon. Yep. Loved it.

The peanut butter encouraged me to visit the Drink Lab. Zombie Bride Wedding Cake Shake, spiked with cake vodka. That’s cake on cake! and delicious.

The shake reminded me of the John Travolta line from Pulp Fiction:”I don’t know if it’s worth five dollars, but it’s pretty f’ing good.”

We had a side a fries, but barely touched them. I’d recommend filling up on burgers and shakes and maybe a fried hot dog.

The staff was sooo friendly and we enjoyed the visit.

9 out of 10 brains. No doubt I will be back.

#79 La Pizza House

Thought I forgot about checking out restaurants, right? Well I made my way to La Pizza House tonight on SE 14th. Everything was very reasonably priced, the pizza was good, and the service was great!

That, my friend, is a cheeseburger pizza. Tip from our waitress: Remove pickles before reheating.

Ham and Pineapple, with additions of pepperoni and mushrooms. Spice level? Mild. And still had a nice little kick.

We also enjoyed the onion rings and baked ravioli, but the camera on my phone could not capture the greasy goodness.

This place has a lot of fans being one of the oldest Italian places in town, and I can tell why by the friendly, speedy service.

Red China Bistro

Tonight’s dinner brought me to Red China Bistro on Ingersol. It was a simply beautiful setting, with delicious food.

Appetizers plates are $8 and we choose a (almost too) spicy Beef Lettuce Wraps. Ground beef and herbs.

This hot weather was encouraging a glass of wine, so I went with the Red Blend (perfect!).

Erica got the Spicy Crab Sushi Roll. Cream cheese and spicy crab.

I went with the Red Caterpillar Sushi Roll, I could not get enough of this tempura shrimp, cream cheese, cucumber, topped with crab meat, spicy mayo and unagi sauce.

See you again soon!

Americana

Out for a pre-bachelorette party dinner at Americana.  A fortunate reservation mistake led to a pretty interesting night. We agreed to sit near the kitchen instead of the dining room, especially since some complimentary items we involved. :)

Like Fried Cheese Ravioli:

A mouth watering array of drink choices, modeled my girl, A. Highlights of the table: Strawberry Bitch (ordered purely for the name), Singapore Sling, and the never-fail Moscow Mule

The bride-to-be had a teriyaki glazed, pineapple topped Tiki Burger. “good”

Pan Seared Salmon: “good and light, but must-like-lentil”

Mac & Cheese w/Chicken: “very good, very rich, almost cheesed out at the end”

Red Snapper: “really liked bamboo and snow pea slaw”

Burger Americana: “Seasoned fries are the way to go and the burger had nice seasoning too”

Ravioli Americano: “Delicious, served with bread, and covered in mushrooms”

Thanks for a great evening, Americana! Check out the full menu : http://americanadsm.com
